Lamar Odom Emotional Leaving the Los Angeles Lakers: I love the NBA, I love what David Isaac Stern has done for the conference, and I was frivolous that the lockout was end and the regular flavour was breaking down to commence on Christmas Day. Yet all now and and then something happens in the conference that turns Pine Tree State off completely and makes Pine Tree State call into question why I even out supporting the cartesian product. Yesterday was single of those days for Pine Tree State. Just single sidereal day before role player* around the NBA were set to news report to summer camp and the lockout was going to formally last, a smash hit trade wind started brewing between 3 teams up: The fresh siege of Orleans Hornets, the City of the Angels Lakers, and the Sam Houston Rockets. The 3 team up business deal centered on around Chris Alice Paul, arguably the compass point guard in the game, heading to Los Angeles to team up up on Kobe Bryant and make believe a run at additional patronage. It was a day to celebrate for Lakers fans and was a day that would finally NBA fans to stop talking about basketball related to income, taxes of luxury, the Amnesty clauses and other problems that contributed to a shortened regular season.
Not so fast. Instead of Chris Paul jumping on a plane to meet Kobe Bryant at the airport, he was told that he would be staying in New Orleans. And why? Because David Stern and the NBA decided to veto the trade saying it was in their interest to have Chris Paul with the Hornets. Best interests for whom? Other owners around the League including Dan Gilbert, who shot him an e-mail where he sounded like a child again? How quickly we forget that was completely fine with two lopsided deals its franchises pulled out to get Shaquille O'Neal and Antawn Jamison.
The argument can be made that a team, League, can't afford to lose its main attraction. The question is at what cost? People around the League knows that Chris Paul is not long for New Orleans. He is a free agent and made his intentions to leave very clear. The Hornets have no choice but to move Chris Paul and get something for him now. Not only would they have got something in the proposed deal, they would do as best they could and were happy with the RADIUS you have received. The Lakers were ready to give up an all-star Center (Pau Gasol) and the reigning sixth man of the year (Lamar Odom). The rockets were ready to trade away their two best players, Kevin Martin and Luis Scola. The Hornets were going to get exactly what they wanted out of the deal, but still was vetoed. Someone tell me what was wrong with the business. You're telling me that Chris Paul is allowed to be traded, not only in Los Angeles? That is a great precedent to set.
There are reasons why the NBA is losing fans and there is a reason why people have talked about the League is rigged. David Stern gave more ammunition to all those people in a parody of a decision which has spun into a chaotic NBA.
Lamar Odom joined ESPN Radio in Los Angeles to Stephen Smith show to talk about the rumors was traded to the New Orleans Hornets, regardless of whether he has heard from the Lakers about possibly traded, because he is so depressed about the possibility of being traded, because he thinks that the Lakers might want to move him, if he is stunned that the Lakers look like they want to move and would like to say to the fans of Los Angeles.
