' Boardwalk Empire ' Comments: Your Reactions to the Final: The finale of "Boardwalk conglomerate" faced (*spoiler alert!*) the death of single of the serial publication' major characters.
Jemmy Darmody's unseasonable dying sparked a Brobdingnagian discourse in the commentaries section of the recapitulate of the finale, associated above. Here's a sample distribution of what's being said. NJ.com drug user GeneralUrko wrote:
What a season! Jimmy will be missed. He was clearly emotionally scarred by war. WW1 was really a horrible conflict that really doesn't get the attention they get WW2 and the Nazis. It was literally mass slaughter in the trenches. (There is a large Iron Maiden song, called "Paschendale" about WW1 battle of the same name). I was hoping that showed a flashback WW1 in this series to see what sort of horrors Jimmy and Richard born.
I always found Jimmy's mother to be very disturbing, that just by the way she always spoke in that constant soft, soothing voice no matter what the situation. And I always had the suspicion that she was intimate with her son. This season was definitely better than the last. A sudden thought: Jimmy and Richard took care of the guy who was going to testify against Nucky. I really thought that would get him back in the good graces of Nucky. It is rather twisted Nucky still killed Jimmy after he helped get the miscarriage. Nucky is really ruthless ... Goodbye Jimmy. Met with Angela.
Some are upset by her death. NJ.com user Chris38 wrote:
Jimmy did not have to be killed. It would not be devalued. Michael Pitt (Jimmy) was a brilliant actor and he is probably 90% because I also watched this show and have become obsessed about it. Seriously, I'm sick to my stomach. I'm so depressed that Jimmy was killed. Because they would kill off a main character in season 2? I can understand and perhaps if kinda were the final season, as in the Sopranos, when all the main characters were getting killed in the season finale, as when Tony killed Chrissy. But, this is an absolute disgrace. I'm sure I will have more than this, but now I am in complete and total shock, disbelief and frankly very upset. Who else feels my pain?
We must point out that Chris38 revisited his thoughts on the episode and shared some insightful revelations. Check out his profile for more. Meanwhile, Leonard Hatchett always thought Jimmy had to die:
I'm really puzzled by the seemingly blind affinity for Jimmy. Although I liked the character, was extremely clear and obvious to me that sealed his fate last season. Nucky did the correct thing; He had no choice. Jimmy had too many flaws and personal issues to survive in the world which helped create. Above all, however, he possessed a glaring flaw that contributed to his demise-Jimmy possessed not one gram of fidelity. His loyalty is to the highest bidder. In addition, failed to take control when the opportunity presented itself. The mouth, put him in his rear end situations that couldn't get him out. In addition, failed to bring in income has promised with alcohol, and left Nucky astound and outclass him whenever their paths cross. Jimmy poor; He was a child lost playing the game of a man. He had not made a wise decision since leaving Harvard. He was a bad husband, bodyguard, businessman and gangster. However, I have to admit that he will be sorely missed!
