Bobby Bowden Returns To The FSU Campus For The 1st Time

Bobby Bowden Returns To The FSU Campus For The 1st Time: LSU will have a tough-minded clock bunking Alabama double in the same flavour, former Everglade State body politic four-in-hand Bobby Bowden said Tues nighttime during his 1st visit backbone on campus since his deviation 2 yrs agone.

Bowden acknowledges something about replays of the none. 1 and none. Two teams up. His 1996 ball club lost the nationalist backup to rival Florida in a replay at the Sugar Bowl just 5 calendar week* afterward the Seminoles had won the regular-season game.

"We got beat jolly doggoned good that 2nd game," Bowden said.

"It wouldn't surprisal Pine Tree State for LSU to win, they are good as you've seen, but to Pine Tree State Alabama has the same vantage that Everglade State had on us," Bowden said. "They got under one's skin beat and they're mad as you acknowledge what. They're as made believe as a wet biddy. And if you're not overcareful, your guys are satisfied."

Bowden attended the November 5 game in Tuscaloosa, Ala., where LSU defeated the host Crimson Tide 9-6 in overtime. Said that they were the two best teams that has seen this year and are worthy of a rematch for the national title.

"Defense WINS Championships," Bowden said. "Alabama and LSU this year are of a different breed, their defenses are devastating gentile".

His Seminoles won the national championship in 1993 and in 1999 and went 14 straight seasons between 1987-2000 with 10 WINS or more. He retired as the second most successful coach in major college football behind only former Penn State coach Joe Paterno.

Bowden's teams won 389 games on the field, although the NCAA deprived him of a dozen victories for one academic scandal that stretched on 10 sports at the school.

The Bowden 82 years did get in a joke on his departure, although during his speech at the Tallahassee Quarterback Club.

"Bernie Sliger, my favorite President, put down," Bowden said. "He let me stay here."

Stanley Marshall served as President of Florida State when Bowden was hired in 1976, Sliger resumed shortly after and is given credit for keeping it in Florida State despite coaching overtures from several schools, between 1979 and the beginning of the 90 that incorporated both LSU and Alabama.

Bowden wanted to train the Seminoles in 2010, but after almost a decade of mediocrity and a decline in recruitment, was replaced by offensive coordinator and "coach waiting" Jimbo Fisher.

Although both men claim that their relationship is good, haven't spoken by Fisher and Bowden.

"He knows where I live," Bowden said Tuesday night. "Know my phone number if you ever need it."

Florida State went under Fisher 18-8 and is headed in the Bowl Champs on 29 December in Orlando.

Bowden had often proclaimed during his heyday that he would retire if he was ever more than a season or two of three or four losses.

After four defeats in five in 2001 and 2002, Bowden said he wanted to get the Seminoles back on top. Then he announced that he would like to reach 400 WINS. Bowden, like Paterno, was on the verge of retiring voluntarily and Florida State Alumni were tired of waiting for the program sagged.

Bowden remains busy, with an average between two and five commitments talking about a week and a little more time on the golf course. And watch a lot of football games.
