Regulars Ohio hit Old Navy and Macy visit in annual

Ohio principal Mike Eier made his purchase trip to Chicago with his daughter, Andrea, and his granddaughter, Natalie Christmas annual.

Eier said it is making a conscious effort to buy more credit than with cash in the past years, at least half and half. "I don't want a lot of credit card debt," he said. He will continue to use the credit if you get a special discount for doing so. Still, he plans to spend more on Christmas gifts this year because he and his wife are buying a new mattress set as a gift to yourself. That will probably Boost their Christmas spending from a budget of $ 400 or $ 500 to $ 1,500 about this season.

"We have been extremely blessed," he said, noting that his entire family had jobs and is healthy.

On Thanksgiving Day, he, his daughter and grandson took advantage of vecchia Marina to be State Street open and spent about $ 45 on clothing there.

They started Black Friday at the State Street Macy-which opened at midnight to about 5:45.

Eier and dfamily started on the 8th floor of the store, watching the mattresses for him and his wife. Saw a set which is an additional 10% off, but he wants to consult first with his wife, after which you get from work this afternoon in Ohio

Then climbed to the seventh floor and purchased eight or nine Christmas ornaments as gifts for $ 6.99 apiece.

On the sixth floor, they collected towels and more ornaments in a ward of trim-a-tree, spending about $ 40.

On the fifth floor, Natalie got a dress for about $ 40, and visited St. Among other things, Natalie asked for a horse.

Other shops that they plan to visit to Chicago include American Girl, Ghirardelli and Garrett Popcorn.

Eier said he isn't sure if they will be back in Chicago next year, as Andrea is studying to be a nurse and she might have to work Black Friday, 2012.
