Stewart wins Supercross in Oakland: OAKLAND, California – James Stewart of Haines City, Fla., won the race of Monster Energy AMA Supercross at O.co Coliseum on Saturday night, his first victory of the Supercross class Main Event of the season.
Eli Tomac, Cortez, California, won his second consecutive regional Supercross Lites West race.
Stewart, who won in Oakland last year, past Chad Reed within nine and check-out. Stewart became the winner of the fourth class of Supercross season.
"I got into a rhythm out there tonight and put together a great race," said Stewart, who dedicated the victory to his mechanic, Mark "Tex" Adams, who died earlier this week. "I had a couple of tough races this year, and tonight I did".
Reed finished second and is tied with Ryan Dungey for first place at 85 points apiece.
